Obstructive Sleep Apnea

by Sleep Division

OSA is a repetitive partial or complete blockage of the upper airway while sleeping. Signs and symptoms of OSA may include, but are not limited to, snoring, witnessed breaks in the breathing pattern while sleeping and excessive daytime sleepiness. Adults with untreated moderate and severe OSA have an increased incidence of high blood pressure, diabetes, heart attacks, strokes and motor vehicle accidents. In children, untreated significant OSA can contribute to attention deficits, hyperactivity, learning issues, and may adversely affect facial growth. Multiple treatment options are available.
